Born in the heart of the Andes in Quito—the world’s second-highest capital city—Camilo Andrade began his mountaineering journey at just 13 years old. By 17, he knew guiding was his calling and began exploring new alpine routes. After summiting Ecuador’s highest peaks, he expanded his expedition footprint to Peru’s renowned Cordillera Blanca range.

Camilo’s extensive travels across South America include climbing and trekking through iconic regions such as Huaraz, Arequipa, Cusco, Huayhuash, the Atacama Desert, La Paz, and Uyuni. For Camilo, mountaineering is a continuous journey of exploration and sharing wild places with travelers who value nature and meaningful human connection. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Ecotourism from the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador (PUCE), is a certified ASEGUIM mountain guide, an IFMGA/UIAGM candidate, and the founder of Topos Ecuador.
