How does mountain rescue work in Ecuador?

• The rescue team of the police does not charge for it as it is financed by the state, unlike ASEGUIM that charges.
• In order to proceed with the rescue operations ASEGUIM needs a local agency to be the guarantor of the recue operations until the paper work and payment is arranged with the insurance company
• It is important to say that % 85 of the rescues in Ecuador are mainly of climbers who go to the mountains without guides
