Benno is a Swiss guide living in Ecuador since 1995 and is happily married to Mariana, an Ecuadorian national. Benno started skiing at the early age of 4; at 14 he was a member of the Swiss Alpine Club where he had an extensive climbing career in the Alps. He is one of the few ASEGUIM guides who are qualified to lead ski descents in Ecuador.
Since his arrival he has continuously been guiding in most of the Andean countries of South America, especially in Ecuador. At the moment he is one of the Instructors of the Ecuadorian Association of Mountain Guides and he is a internationally certified (IFMGA) guide.
