Oswaldo Freire

Oswaldo is a very experienced climber. He has made many notable climbs, among them the first traverse of all the summits of El Altar, two expeditions to the South Face of Aconcagua, the Eastern Face of Huayna Potosi in Bolivia and a difficult route up Peak Lenin. He has led many commercial expeditions to the Andes of Bolivia, Peru, Argentina and Mount Everest (the fourth time already in 2022)
“Ossy” as we call him, is well informed about his country’s culture, history, and spectacular natural places, and loves sharing his knowledge with our guests. His spirit, enthusiasm, and knowledge extend well beyond the borders of Ecuador.
Besides guiding he is running Hacienda Rumiloma a unique restaurant and lodge overlooking the city of Quito. He is a internationally certified mountain guide (IFMGA).
